The Calabash Residencies

"Life is a calabash; how you carry it decides what you drink.”

Calabash Ecosystem Overview

The Calabash Ecosystem is designed to support youth development through storytelling, arts, and creative expression from early childhood through young adulthood.

Through structured programs—including residencies, learning cohorts, and community-based experiences—participants engage in storytelling, writing, performance, and reflection practices that strengthen literacy, cultural identity, and confidence.

This model supports organizations in offering meaningful, culturally responsive programming that nurtures voice, creativity, and a strong sense of self within the communities they serve.
