The AfroLiteracy™ Middle School Thinking Toolkit is a culturally grounded collection of graphic organizers and literacy tools designed to help middle school scholars strengthen the thinking skills they need across subjects.
 
Rather than being tied to one novel, textbook, or curriculum, the toolkit was intentionally designed for flexible use. Scholars can use the organizers with novels, short stories, informational texts, historical documents, videos, podcasts, science investigations, social studies lessons, family discussions, and independent research.
 
The toolkit moves beyond basic comprehension by helping scholars collect information, analyze evidence, examine characters, identify themes and conflicts, organize ideas, develop written responses, and make meaningful connections between learning, culture, community, and their own lives.
 
What's Included
The toolkit includes graphic organizers and reference tools covering word ancestry and vocabulary, textual evidence, summary strategies, character analysis, character growth, story and media analysis, internal and external conflict, theme, main idea and supporting details, note-taking, types of evidence, reflection, narrative elements, and C.R.E.Q.S. paragraph development.
 
The organizers can be used for whole-group instruction, small groups, independent practice, homeschool lessons, tutoring, learning centers, intervention, assessment, and project-based learning.
 
Print the pages individually as needed or create an AfroLiteracy™ Scholar Binder students can continue adding to throughout the year.
